After 18 years in global recruitment firms in the UK and Australia and recently a senior executive at an ASX listed organisation, Gemma is on a mission to redesign workplace experiences so they genuinely work for more people and more organisations. Gemma has led game-changing overhauls to parental leave policies, flexible working and talent acquisition models resulting in sustainable change and multiple awards. This goal is what inspired Gemma to start Workplace Edit which focuses on changing the workplace practices, systems and behaviours so workers get the best from their workplaces and workplaces get the best from their workers.
Gemma has almost two decades of experience in human resources spanning talent acquisition, diversity & inclusion, employee experience, employer branding, organisational development contingent workforce management, leadership development and organisational change. Gemma is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is a board member of Minus18. Listed in HRD's hotlist and nominated in the diversity champion and inspirational role model categories at the Australian LGBTI Awards, Gemma is known as a bold, authentic and progressive leader.
Gemma is a parent, a queer woman and loves short walks with her lazy rescue Greyhound… preferably around a local farmers market.
Workplaces haven't been designed for the type of diverse talent that organisations need to attract, retain and promote to achieve their goals. Bold teams are curiously exploring the gap between their strategic goals, their workplace practices and the impact this has on their people and performance.
Most workplaces, including the practices, systems and behaviours already in place, fall short when it comes to the expectations of today's innovative workforce.
It’s time for an edit.
Our approach to workplace redesign pays attention to the expectations of the company, its diverse workforce and the broader community. We believe all three elements are vital considerations for sustainable business outcomes and more memorable moments for employees and customers. We aim to edit workplace practices, systems and behaviours so workers get the best from their workplaces and workplaces get the best from their workers.
Key areas of focus include flexible work practices, parental leave policies and programs, EVP and employer branding, culture, the physical environment and technology experience.
By collaborating with you, we'll leverage evidence-based approaches with human-centred design to make the edits required for your workers to thrive inside and outside of work. Talk to us today about how we can improve the employee experience for more talent segments and align these efforts to your strategic objectives.
To edit workplaces so people don't have to edit themselves.
We redesign workplaces so they work for more people and more organisations.
We do this by challenging inequitable policies, practices and unhelpful norms and redesigning workplaces where talented people and brilliant businesses grow, contribute and thrive. Together, we will deliver better commercial and societal outcomes by operating with everyone in mind.

When reimagining experiences, the culture, physical space and technology all play a role in shaping change in the everyday interactions and creating memorable moments.
Make it matter. We contribute intentionally and make a long-lasting, sustainable difference. It matters to us that the edits we make together genuinely create better outcomes for all. We cut straight to the meaningful challenges and opportunities in your context.
